Itinerary: 14-Day Bird Photography Safari in Kenya
Day 1–2: Nairobi National Park
Begin your journey just outside the capital at Nairobi National Park, where savannah meets the city skyline. Spot iconic birds like the Secretarybird, Hartlaub’s Bustard, and African Fish Eagle.
Day 3–4: Lake Naivasha
Explore the calm waters of Lake Naivasha by boat, ideal for photographing species such as African Jacanas, Kingfishers, and Goliath Herons. The surrounding acacia forests also offer excellent sightings.
Day 5–6: Lake Baringo
Lake Baringo is a renowned birding hotspot with over 470 recorded species. This is your chance to capture the Verreaux’s Eagle, Hemprich’s Hornbill, and Nightjars in action during dawn and dusk photography sessions.
Day 7–8: Kakamega Forest
Dive into the only tropical rainforest in Kenya. Rare forest species such as the Great Blue Turaco, Blue-headed Bee-eater, and Yellow-billed Barbet await your camera.
Day 9: Kisumu and Lake Victoria
