Your Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before planning your Kenya safari.

Yes — accommodation is included in all our multi-day safari packages. We select lodges and tented camps based on your budget and proximity to the best wildlife areas. You can also request specific properties and we will price accordingly.

Absolutely. Solo travellers are welcome on our small group photography workshops (maximum 6 participants). You can also book a private safari for complete flexibility. See our safari tours or WhatsApp Joe for the current small-group schedule.

Yes. Not all our clients are photographers — many join for pure wildlife viewing, birding, or to accompany a photographer partner. We tailor every trip to the group, so non-photographers are always comfortable and engaged.

A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a 300–500mm telephoto lens covers most situations. A wide-angle lens is useful for landscapes. We advise on gear in detail after you book. Joe can also demonstrate techniques with any camera level — even a smartphone. Learn more about our safari photography approach.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all safari clients. It should cover medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and equipment. We can suggest reputable insurers if needed.

A 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your booking and secures the vehicle and accommodation. The balance is due 7 days before departure. Payment is accepted via M-Pesa, bank transfer, or USD/GBP equivalent.

For peak season (July–October, especially Great Migration), book 3–6 months in advance as lodges and guides fill quickly. For off-peak periods, 4–8 weeks is usually sufficient. Day trips can often be arranged with 1 week notice.

Yes — Kenya has over 1,100 recorded bird species making it one of Africa’s premier birding destinations. We arrange specialist birding tours to Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Lake Baringo, Kakamega Forest, and the Rift Valley lakes with expert birding guides.
